About the Lions Club

Formed in Chicago, Illinois in 1917, the Lions Club International focused on giving back to the community through the volunteer service. Though the Lions Club is known chiefly for their efforts to end preventable blindness, the Club has branched out to provide a wide variety of services ranging from rebuilding playgrounds to providing emergency aid to natural disaster victims. With over 1.4 million members in 205 countries worldwide, the Lions Club is truly an international effort.
