Coed Basketball 2021
Info: For boys & girls in grades K – 5th
Coaching: Please let us know if you or your family would like to coach, assist, or generally help out. We can match your level of experience and special needs with another coach. We try to have at least two coaches per team. All players should be contacted before first practice. Please call if you are not contacted.
Equipment: We will provide half a court, one goal, balls and cones.
Uniforms: Each player will be provided with a team shirt. Colors are assigned randomly. Shirts should be available at the last practice before the games start. Participants may wear shorts or pants. Please wear non-marking rubber soled shoes. All shirts must be tucked in for games.
Additional Info: Team sizes and the number of spectators will be limited for all practices & games. Spectators, coaches & staff must wear masks. Players must wear masks except when actively participating in practice or games.
Coed Indoor Soccer
Info: For boys & girls ages (4-11). Teams will consist of a maximum of 6 players.
Registration Deadline: February 13th
Games: Saturdays, starting March 6th.
Practices: Starting February 22nd, once per week. Please inform us of any nights or times you cannot practice.
Coaching: Please let us know if you or your family would like to coach, assist, or generally help out. We can match your level of experience with another coach. Coaches Meeting TBA.
Equipment: All players are required to provide their own shin guards. We will provide balls, cones and goals.
Uniforms: Each player will be provided with a team shirt. Colors are assigned randomly. Participants may wear shorts or pants. Please wear non-marking rubber soled shoes.

Volleyball
Information: Bel Aire will be having an instructional volleyball program for grades 3rd – 5th.
Equipment: Volleyballs will be available at your instructional practices. Each volleyball participant is required to have knee pads.
Uniforms: Each player will be provided with a team shirt. Colors are assigned randomly. Shirts should be available at the last practice before the scheduled scrimmage games are played. Players may wear shorts or pants.
Wichita Heights Junior Baseball/Softball League
Registration of full teams accepted with age & residency restrictions.
Registrations not affiliated with a team may be assigned to a Bel Aire team if available or will be referred to other districts for placement if available. All registrants will be contacted as soon as possible with information regarding the status of their registration. Registration deadline is March 1st $10 late fee charged after the deadline.
Age Divisions
11-12 Girls Softball (cannot be 13 on or before Jan 1. 2021 & must be 10 on or before Jan. 1, 2021)
11-12 Boys Baseball (cannot be 13 on or before May 1. 2021 & must be 10 on or before Jan. 1, 2021)
13-15 Girls Softball (cannot be 16 on or before Jan 1. 2021 & must be 12 on or before Jan. 1, 2021)
13-14 Boys Baseball (cannot be 15 on or before May 1. 2021 & must be 12 on or before Jan. 1, 2021)
Resident Fee- $95 Non Resident Fee - $120
Games: Games will begin in May
Equipment: Basic age appropriate equipment may be provided by Bel Aire Recreation.
Uniforms: Each team is required to secure their uniforms independently.
Practices: Practices will begin in late March.
Recreational Baseball, Softball & T-ball
Practices: Practices will begin in May. Each team will have a scheduled practice once a week on Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, or Sunday.
Games: Games will start in June. While bad weather may extend the season, the season will be declared finished July 12th regardless of outstanding games.
Coaching: Please let us know if you or your family would like to coach, assist, or generally help out. No experience is needed to help. We will have coaches meetings TBA. EVERYONE THAT WISHES TO COACH, BE ON THE FIELD OR IN THE DUGOUT MUST ATTEND A COACHES MEETING.
Equipment: Bel Aire Recreation provides teams with bats, balls, batting helmets, a T-ball stand for the T-ball teams, and catcher’s gear for the rest of the teams. Bases and chalk lines for games only. Players must provide gloves. Rubber cleats are allowed but not required.
Uniforms: Each team will be provided with team shirts. Team colors are assigned randomly. Players may wear shorts or pants to their own comfort.
Weather: Bel Aire Staff will determine the playability of field conditions. We may play in light rain. In case of rain outs we will be reschedule as quickly as field availability and conditions allow. Please do not call the recreation center to see if the games are cancelled. We will contact the coaches and they will contact you.
Coed Outdoor Soccer
Games: Saturdays
Practices: Starts the week of TBA once a week. Please inform us of any nights or times you cannot practice.
Coaching: Please let us know if you or your family would like to coach, assist, or generally help out. We can match your level of experience and special needs with another coach. We try to have at least two coaches per team. All coaches are required to attend a coaches meeting. Coaches meeting TBA
Uniforms: Each player will be provided with a team shirt. Colors are assigned randomly. Shirts should be available at the last practice before the games start. Participants may wear shorts or pants. Players may wear tennis shoes or rubber cleats. No metal cleats allowed. Each player is required to have a pair of shin guards.
Weather: Bel Aire Staff will determine the playability of field conditions. We may play in light rain, so children should dress accordingly.
Flag Football
Games: Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings beginning TBA. Games will be played in Bel Aire & Valley Center.
Practices: Starts the week of TBA once a week. Please inform us of any nights or times you cannot practice. No practices will be held on the game field.
Coaching: Please let us know if you or your family would like to coach, assist, or generally help out. We can match your level of experience and special needs with another coach. We try to have at least two coaches per team. Coaches Meeting TBA.
Equipment: We provide balls and flag belts for each team along with mouth guards. All divisions will use a Jr. sized football.
Uniforms: Each player will be provided with a team shirt. Colors are assigned randomly. Rubber cleats may be worn but are not required.
Weather: Games will only be called off in the event of extreme weather conditions.
Instructional Programs for Ages 2-5
Happy Feet
Happy Feet classes are 30 minutes in length (National Association for Sports & Physical Education recommendation). Every child has a ball at their feet throughout class. HappyFeet uses nursery rhymes, songs, stories, adventures, and games with a soccer ball to maximize motor skill development and individual skills. Two and three-year-olds love acting out nursery rhymes and songs; four and five-year-olds have a blast with fun adventures and games. Kids love taming their "Bob the Bobcat" soccer ball!
Class times are subject to change. We do are very best to keep class times consistent. However sometimes due to unforeseen circumstances ie, Weather, School Conflicts. We will always do our best to make the class up.

Happy Hoops
Happy Hoops is a basketball based preschool enrichment program. Designed to introduce basketball to children between the ages 2 - 5 years old.
We have an adaptive and age appropriate curriculum that will teach your child basketball fundamentals. Children learn the game of basketball through fun stories, games and challenges. Each week we teach children fundamental ball handling skills which can then use in the games

Little Dribblers
This skills and drills program is designed to introduce basketball to(4 & 5 yr. olds). The players will be divided into small groups and rotated through stations to learn basic skills such as dribbling, passing, shooting, defense and the rules of the game. As the program progresses game situations will be introduced. The goal height will be set at six and a half feet and a youth size 4 basketballs will be used.
Additional Info: Group size and number of spectators will be limited. Instructor & spectators must wear masks at all times. Participants must wear masks to & from the gymnasium. Each player will receive a T-shirt and an award at the end.
Short Sports
Coaching: A parent, Family Member, or Family Friend will be required to participate with the child. We recommend having the same person help as much as possible.
Equipment: All equipment will be provided by Bel Aire Recreation.
Activities: The program will mix one-on-one stations and teach basic hand-eye coordination.
Blastball
Practice: On TBA all teams will have one practice session. After this practice, teams will meet for games only. Each player will be contacted as to the time of the practice byTBA.
Games: Dates TBA on Tuesdays and Thursdays (6 games). Game times will be provided at the practice session.
Coaching: Please let us know if you or your family would like to coach, assist, or generally help out. No experience is needed for this sport.
Equipment: Bel Aire Recreation provides all necessary equipment for Blastball. Gloves are not used in this program.
Uniforms: Each team will be provided with team shirts. Team colors are assigned randomly. Players may wear shorts or pants to their own comfort.
Weather: Bel Aire Staff will determine the playability of field conditions. We may play in light rains. In case of rain outs we will reschedule for a week night or Saturday.
