Curbside Clean Up - October 10th
Waste Connections requests all items to be collected to be set at the curb prior to 7:00 a.m. on October 10th. Waste Connections will make one pass thru the City.
All items being collected need to be able to be handled by one or two people safely. Any trash not in the trash cart must be in throwaway containers such as boxes or bags, no more than 30-gallon capacity. Make trash carts visible to the driver to be picked up for Curbside Clean-Up by setting out near curb and putting items next to trash cart.
Accepted items:
- general trash
- furniture
- bundled brush or limbs in 3 ft lengths (For longer limbs, drop off at the City brush site.)
- outdoor items
- mattresses
- appliances
- electrical items
- refrigerators, freezers, & air conditions (Must be tagged by technician and paperwork attached.)
Items Not Accepted:
- car batteries
- oil filters
- fluorescent light bulbs
- propane tanks
- any asbestos materials
- explosives
- paint (Empty and dried paint cans with lid off is accepted.)
- hazardous liquids (such as fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, solvents, diesel fuel, gas, oil, transmission fluid, antifreeze, etc.)
E-Recycling and Shredding Day - October 10th
Bring documents to be shredded or unwanted electronics to be disposed of responsibly from 9 a.m. to noon in the north parking lot at Bel Aire City Hall. Please remember to maintain social distancing requirements and wear masks if unable to stay 6’ apart. Open to Bel Aire residents. The only charge is for televisions that have cathode ray tubes - $1.00 per diagonal inch.
Bel Aire Lions Club will be on-site to assist as well as collect used glasses, old cell phones, discarded hearing aids, and used ink cartridges.
City Brush Site - October 10th
City brush site open for the last time this season on October 10th from 9 a.m. to noon. The brush site is located on the north side of 53rd Street, halfway between Rock Rd and Webb Rd. Must unload yourself.
Fall Fun Day! - October 17th
Come enjoy a fun day at the Bel Aire Rec Center with food trucks, car show, vendor area, and fall activities. Event will be from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Social distancing and mask requirements will be followed per Sedgwick County health order.
