Continued monitoring for Harmful Algal Blooms (HAB) has been conducted at Eagle Lake. Findings from recent samplings on Monday, August 5 have now put Eagle Lake into a Warning status for blue-green algae.
A warning status means that harmful algae is expected or present and people and animals may get sick if in contact.
- In case of contact with lake water—wash with clean, potable water afterward
- Avoid areas of algae accumulation
- Do not let people or pets eat dried algae or drink untreated water
- Clean fish well and discard guts
In case of contact with harmful algae, call a doctor or veterinarian if people or animals experience illness. Resampling is tentatively scheduled for August 19.
