[ARCHIVED] The Gathering Place - A Plan for a New Community Park

gatheringplace

Background

The City of Bel Aire has embarked on the design for a new park which is envisioned as a community gathering place; a place for everyone to come together for events, festivals, markets and everyday recreation.  Last year, the city, along with their consultant team, surveyed the community to discover the best location for this new park and what type of park the citizens of Bel Aire wanted.   This input was then used to develop a master plan for a gathering place just Northeast of City Hall.

The Vision

The vision for this new park is to create a “town square” for Bel Aire which harkens back to traditional civic places where neighbors come together for events and community.  The design relates strongly to City Hall and is envisioned to be the centerpiece for private development which will eventually encompass the park.

Moving Forward

Now the city wants to hear more from the community about what specific amenities, activities and events that is de-sired for this new public space.  There are two ways you can make your voice heard in this process.  First, you can simply complete the back of this form and return it to City Hall. Or, you can participate in the more extensive survey using www.surveymonkey.com/r/BelAirePark. Comment online through December 31, 2018.
